About Me
I grew up in Ireland and got my education at University College Dublin, one of Europe's top universities. I emigrated to the US in 1994 and started work in the high-tech industry and furthered my education with project management certification at Villanova University and systems requirement certification from UCSD.
I spent most of my career working on electrical control systems, basically making things work. I am a hands-on engineer, that is I literally get into the system to make sure everything works correctly. My designs and teamwork have been certified by UL & CE and are literally working in factories all over the world. In 2021 I decided to redirect my career to working on boats, something I did as a hobby. Getting certified means, I can bring my skill and experience to the boating world. I also consult on the reconditioning and repair of the equipment I used to build in San Diego.
Growing up in Ireland I spent a lot of time sailing and fishing on the River Shannon. I have enjoyed many trips up and down the inland waterways of Ireland as well as sailing off the coast of southern California and fishing in southern Oregon. I have been lucky enough to have had some memorable trips to Malaysia where I explored some of the islands and rivers through the jungle.
I have spent over 20 years designing systems and building tools for the semi-conductor industry.
